The stunning transformation of Janet Jackson

She's one of the world's most popular actresses. A famous family's youngest member, she appeared as a celebrity in her own right. Over the years, while enjoying immense success, she has endured several struggles and changes — but how much do you really learn about her?

Here are some of the most convincing examples from Janet Jackson's amazing transformation.
Jackson had a very modest day, given her superstar status today. Her parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson, had a large family, including her brother, Michael, and Janet's daughter, who was born on May 16, 1966.

Growing up under the watchful eye of her devoted Jehovah's Witness mother, Jackson did not celebrate holidays like Christmas or her birthday, and was encouraged to be modest and healthy in her clothing and behaviour. For many years to come, this picture stuck with her.
Jackson is evidence that there is no certainty that you will be effective even with a familiar face and name — especially in the first attempt.

The family left Gary, Indiana and moved to Los Angeles after their brothers, led by Michael, were signed by Motown and gained notoriety as The Jackson 5. A budding star in her own right, Jackson began appearing on popular television shows such as The Jacksons, Good Times, A New Kind of Family, Diff'rent Strokes, and Fame
.
She released her first song, Janet Jackson, when she was only 16, with her uncle supervising the beginning of her music career at A&M Records. While they certainly had high hopes, on the pop charts, the attempt peaked at number 84. Dream Road, her second album, didn't do any better. Fortunately, Jackson wasn't giving up.

Through moving away from her family, Jackson's life changed for the better. She explained when addressing her decision to separate business from her personal life, "I just wanted to get out of the house, get out of under my father, which was one of the hardest things I had to do." However, the hard work seemed to pay off when Jackson released her third album. Control was born after collaborating with some of the best creators in the business, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and the rest is history. The song, released in 1986, hit number one on the Billboard 200, sold millions of copies, and was certified by the RIAA as fivefold platinum.
